Week 18 saw some significant results, Taunton Tornados kept up the pressure on Newton Abbot Pacers at the top of the Division II table by winning two games this week, the first against Tiverton Titans Basketball and the second against a weakened Torquay Trailblazers team that still put up a good fight. That linked with the inexplicable forfeit of the Pacers game against Crediton Chargers Basketball Club and loss of league points squeezes the top of the table.

It seems in Division III Bridgwater Buccaneers Basketball Club and Exeter University III are fighting it out for the title – both won their matches this week against North Devon and North Devon II respectively but both by narrow margins.

In Division I, Exeter University I again got the win against Exeter University II.

In the Ladies Division, Taunton Tornados Basketball Club and Plymouth City Patriots both gained the win but by forfeit to Exeter University I who seem to be in turmoil.

The ‘big match’ of the week was the Cup Semi Final sponsored by Prism Painting and Decorating Ltd where Spartan Nomads took on Exeter University I, University I recently put a dent in Nomads’ Division I title hopes and Nomads wanted revenge and some silverware!

It was a tense match, and went down to the wire, but Nomads took it at the buzzer by 5 points after keeping their nerve on the foul line after University tried to peg them back. A Cup Final spot to Spartan Nomads in front a noisy crowd!
